Pumpkin Spice Up Your Day
Enjoy your favorite fall flavor any time of day – not just in a latte!
Why just spice up your day when you can pumpkin spice up your day? Is it really fall if you’re not enjoying a good PSL here and there? (Or every day if you’re like me…) But why limit this delicious flavor to just coffee? It’s no secret that the pumpkin spice craze has taken over the food market in the last several years, starting with lattes and soon delving into the world of desserts and breakfast options of all kinds. There are so many other (less basic) opportunities to make the most of this fall favorite throughout your entire day – morning, noon and night!
Breakfast:
Start your morning off on a healthy note with some pumpkin spice Cheerios. That’s right, your go-to breakfast cereal is available in all its pumpkin-y goodness. What better way to enjoy a whole grain, gluten-free meal? For those who prefer a sweeter start to their day, Frosted Mini Wheats has their own pumpkin spice option as well.
If cereal isn’t your thing, you’re still in luck. Nature’s Path offers their version of a Poptart – you guessed it – in pumpkin flavor! A quick, on-the-go breakfast is sure to start your day off on a perfect fall note. Or, if you’re more of an oatmeal person, Quaker instant oatmeal has a pumpkin spice flavor to wake your tastes buds right up.
Spending the weekend picking pumpkins? A warm, gooey Saturday morning breakfast before you head out is the right way to kick it off. Pillsbury has added a pumpkin spice twist to their iconic original cinnamon rolls for your indulgence. The glaze is even pumpkin spice, too!
Snack:
I tend to get the mid-morning munchies and I’m always looking for the perfect thing to hold me over until lunchtime. A quick, chocolatey snack of Kit Kat’s pumpkin pie candy bars is just the thing I’m looking for! Or, if you’re getting in your last healthy snacks before the holidays, RXBAR has a pumpkin spice protein bar that serves up a guilt-free, yummy option! On the topic of protein bars – the popular CLIF bar has even jumped on the bandwagon with their spiced pumpkin pie bars.
If you’re a health nut – pun intended – you’ll love Blue Diamond’s pumpkin spice almonds. You read that right – almonds with pumpkin spice flavoring! Santé also makes a pumpkin spice flavored pecan as well if that’s more your jam.
Lunch:
Speaking of jam… what’s jam’s best friend? Peanut butter. Pumpkin spice has even delved into the world of peanut butter spreads! Peanut Butter & Co. has a limited edition, seasonal flavor to make any sandwich full of autumn awesomeness and puts a fresh twist on the classic sandwich.
Greek yogurt has become a hit over the last few years, so it’s no surprise Chobani offers a pumpkin spice blended option to accompany your sandwich for lunch! Boom Chicka Pop, the popular, healthy kettle corn snack, is also available in a pumpkin spice option to add a salty element to your afternoon meal.
Dinner:
In the mood for something Mexican tonight? Urban Accents has created a Pumpkin Mole that puts a whole new spin on your average Mexican sauce. Use to simmer a dish or add some on your tacos for taco night!
Maybe you’re in the mood for something Italian instead. Did you ever think pumpkin ravioli would be an option? All your pasta and pumpkin dreams combined into one, thanks to Trader Joe’s, who offer this unique dinner option. With touches of nutmeg and cinnamon, you’ll be ready for Thanksgiving after trying this unique dish.
Dessert:
When it comes to pumpkin, there is virtually an unlimited number of options for dessert items. There’s pie, cake, cookies, cheesecake, the list goes on. One that seems often overlooked is pumpkin spice ice cream! Ben and Jerry’s have pumpkin cheesecake ice cream and Halo Top has a pumpkin pie flavor for something healthier. Try them both and compare!
