Make Your Own Hand Sanitizer

Make Your Own Hand Sanitizer

Make the product that is having a true glow-up right now

Who would have thought that hand sanitizer would be the hottest item of 2020? Not me. I also think brands should be required to put **smells like college, cheap tequila** on the bottle! There is nothing worse than getting a sanitizer home and realizing it was sticky and smells like cheap booze.

When you Google “How to make hand sanitizer” you get endless results. While this may be a hot commodity and hard to find during this pandemic, you can still keep your hands sanitized your own way!

As the holiday season approaches and we are looking for ways to give back, this is one way to give back to our family, friends, and community. Wrap these up in bundles and put them in every stocking! You can even create cleaning baskets as gifts for friends and neighbors. Try using these bamboo or felt containers.

Here is what you need to make hand sanitizer:

  • 2/3 cup 99% rubbing (isopropyl) alcohol – get the good stuff and not the cheap booze-smelling stuff
  • 1/3 cup 100% pure aloe vera gel
  • Optional: 8-10 drops essential oil for smell – I suggest a holiday scent!
  • Bowl and spoon
  • Funnel
  • Liquid Soap Bottles

Instructions:

  1. Mix the rubbing alcohol, aloe vera and optional essential oil in a bowl with a spoon. Be careful to keep pure alcohol away from your skin.
  2. Funnel the mixture into the empty bottle. Screw the pump cap back on and voila, you have hand sanitizer.

It’s so simple to make this gift for yourself or others and you can express how this does NOT smell bad. I know that I am hoarding sanitizer any time I go to the store. So instead of stressing if you’ll find any, just make your own!
