Working at a fast-paced company like mDesign, things can get a little hectic. Ever wonder who is behind the brand? Well, look no further, because we want to introduce you to the people behind mDesign. Every month we will explore what makes us, well, us. Check back next month for more behind-the-scenes action.

Ashley Sullivan
Director of Digital Marketing

  1. Can you tell me a little about yourself?

    I was born and raised in Cleveland, and my family is very tight knit, so I’ve continued to call Cleveland home. I randomly picked my college major (one of those close-your-eyes-and-whatever-you-land-is-what-you-do moments) as I didn’t want to go in undecided. I figured I would just change my major later on. In my “moment,” I landed on advertising / marketing. Welp, I ended up loving it, and voila! Here I am! I’ve spent the majority of my career in kids’ toys (in, you guessed it! Marketing!), and I just recently made the switch over to mDesign in 2018.


  2. What are three words you’d use to describe yourself?

    Determined. A little sassy, but still kind.


  3. What are your hobbies and interests?

    Starting every morning with bold, French roast coffee and an espresso! I also enjoy home decorating, crocheting, baking, and I love reading a good book!


  4. How would you describe your style?

    Comfortable business casual, but still fashionable.


  5. How do you stay organized?

    I *try* to clean – EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. My goal is to do a quick cleanup / put away first thing in the morning, before the toddler gets up, and I do the same thing after her bedtime. I realize it’s an ongoing, losing battle, and some days, I REALLY lose the battle. BIG TIME. But hey, I’m only human, with a destructive, sticky, messy, tiny human running around all day, continually undoing what I’ve already done.


  6. What’s your favorite mDesign product and why?

    The 3” x 12” x 2” organizers – they are great for every room / drawer in the house! Everything has a home and stays neatly in place. I feel the joy sparking every time I open my “kitchen accessories” or “bathroom essentials” drawers.


  7. What’s your favorite part about working at mDesign?

    The fast-paced environment – it’s exciting! It’s makes the day / week / month seemingly fly by, and I enjoy getting to work on new and different things on a weekly basis.

  1. Can you tell me a little about yourself?

    I have been married to my husband Dean for over twenty-five years. We have two very handsome (if I must say so myself) young men who are on their own. Dean and I recently downsized and moved to peaceful, Aurora, Ohio. In May of this year I finally published my first non-fiction book on Amazon, titled “Stained Glass.” And, for the past fifteen years I have worked as a missionary to El Salvador. One of my most proud accomplishments was helping to build and open a brand-new grade school in a very poor community there.


  2. What are three words you’d use to describe yourself?

    Resourceful, outgoing, and thoughtful.


  3. What are your hobbies and interests?

    Writing, reading, cooking, yoga, dancing, and missionary work.


  4. How would you describe your style?

    Cool, comfortable, and classy.


  5. How do you stay organized?

    I hire someone to do it for me! No, I utilize the FIFO – first in, first out method. I organize food by date and use bins and baskets to keep things out of the way. I love to have everything in its place but struggle to keep it that way.


  6. What’s your favorite mDesign product and why?

    I love, love, love, anything you can hang to organize my closet like our Hanging Storage Organizers.


  7. What’s your favorite part about working at mDesign?

    THE PEOPLE!

  1. Can you tell me a little about yourself?

    I grew up in Ohio all my life and then decided to leave after college and explore! I lived in 3 places (South Carolina, North Carolina and Indiana) all for work and loved every minute of it. I now live in Northeast Ohio with a fixer upper that my hubby and I purchased on 5 acres. I am channeling my inner Joanna Gaines as I update one room at a time and loving every minute. I have a baby girl and 3 fur-babies: Dawson, a 12-year-old border collie mix, Stewart, a 8 year-old tabby cat, and Kluber, a 2 year-old tabby cat.


  2. What are three words you’d use to describe yourself?

    Bubbly, determined, quirky.



  3. What are your hobbies and interests?

    I love making things on my Cricut, enjoying a glass of wine and of course… shopping!


  4. How would you describe your style?

    Comfortable and trying** to stay up with at least one trend – which I don’t do very well!


  5. How do you stay organized?

    I always start my day with a to-do list and set my intention of the day. I have also started to re-org my house since the reno, taking a very critical eye to all my stuff.


  6. What’s your favorite mDesign product and why?

    CLEAR. BINS. ARE. LIFE. These bins can be used in every room of your house for every function. I love all the different sizes they come in. The possibilities are endless.


  7. What’s your favorite part about working at mDesign?

    The people – everyone here is great to work with. Our Marketing Team is collaborative and all striving together for one goal.
